OHIP PUBLICLY FUNDED PHYSIOTHERAPY:
Patient Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for OHIP funding, patients must be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner to acquire physiotherapy services, be an insured person under the Health Insurance Act (OHIP) and be within one of the following categories:
- Aged 65 years or older
- Aged 19 years or younger, or
- any age after overnight hospitalization for a condition that requires physiotherapy
- (and for which they are not otherwise eligible through other publicly funded programs*); or
- a recipient of Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program
Patients that are eligible for this program, MUST present their OHIP card at each visit. Patients should have a valid OHIP card. Any services rendered that is not covered by OHIP will be charged to the patient.
